Lazy Creek Studio | Wood Drying Kiln

Welcome to the Lazy Creek Wood Drying Kiln

Lazy Creek Wood Kiln has been in operation for over 6 years, serving the Mount Ida, Hot Spring, Arkansas area.  We operate a Nyle L200 Dehumidification Kiln with a capacity of about 2,000 BF.  The kiln can handle boards up to 15 feet in length.

We can custom dry your lumber, to your drying specifications. We are the only small scale custom kiln drying service in the state.  Most of the kilns are owned and operated by the large lumber companies in the area.  They will not dry lumber for individuals or small companies.

Small loads for individuals is just our market.

We have dried both hardwoods and softwoods, from just cut to air dried for years.  The process of drying lumber using a Nyle dehumidification kiln is a very gentle process resulting in un-stressed lumber.  No final steam process is required as in high temperature kilns.  More information about the Nyle L200 can be found on Nyle's web site at www.nyle.com.

If you need some additional information about the lumber drying process, kiln availability and scheduling, just give me a call at 870-490-0800.  Need information on the rates for kiln drying your lumber?  If you wish you can e-mail me.

I have attended and completed the "Basics of Drying Hardwood Lumber" course offered by the National Hardwood Lumber Association©.

We take pride our work and can provide references upon request.

Nyle L200 Loaded with Teak

Wood Kiln Loaded with Teak Lumber

Here the kiln is loaded with about 2,000 BF of Teak from Thailand.  This lumber was shipped to Broken Bow, Oklahoma to be used in a project for an international builder.  However, the lumber arrived soaking wet, over 40% moisture content.  It was sent here via freight truck, dropped off at the highway.  The teak was then hand loaded on a smaller trailer and moved here to the kiln.  Three weeks later the teak was dry and ready to be used by the milling plant.

This was one of the most unusual lumber drying project undertaken by us.  Our client was in the tough spot and we were able to provide services and resources for his special needs.  More information about this project. . .
